OUR
PRESCHOOL & KINDERGARTEN We are blessed to have an absolutely wonderful, colorful
and child-friendly facility at New Life Assembly of God. We use
several classrooms as well as the great outdoor play space.
1.THE MUPPET ROOM

This
is our main classroom and our day begins
in this area. Here we have our opening time, a story, prayer time,
and finger plays. The Muppet backdrop is replaced with an outdoor
scene for our puppet introductions on Monday in the Getting Ready for
Kindergarten class. In the background of picture 1 is our puzzle
area with a rainbow canopy for a cozy little nook.

Art and Snack Area
Each day children join in a
group art project. Many are open-ended and encourage exploration of
various art media. Others are geared to teach listening and follow
simple directions in a group. At this time we are also helping
children with the fine motor tasks of holding a pencil correctly,
print names, and use scissors appropriately. This area also doubles as a
great snack area with child-sized table. It gives plenty of room for
any group cooking projects.

Free Art Area
During their free play each day, children
have the option to create at the free art area. Paper, markers,
crayons, scissors & a variety of other materials encourage experimentation
for budding young artists

Trucks and Blocks
We have several
different kinds of blocks for little builders, but the favorite
has always been the large cardboard modular blocks. Big trucks, little trucks and middle sized trucks, emergency
vehicles, sports cars, construction vehicles, dump trucks and pick up
trucks are some of our caravan of vehicles in the truck
area. |

Housekeeping Our housekeeping area enables little mommies and daddies to interact with each other and their
children.

|
|
Small manipulative Our small manipulative area contains many
materials for children to develop eye hand coordination
skills. There are many floor and board puzzles, stringing
beads, Duplos, attribute blocks, lacing cards, Lincoln log sets and other
manipulative. Our marble run has always been a favorite toy

Library corner
Our library changes each month from
our huge collection of books. We also provide many books on tape for
little friends to listen to.

2. THE TRAIN ROOM
This room has a huge train painted
surrounding it on the walls. Inside the adorable train are storybook
characters like Curious George, Clifford, Grover and many others.
The play area in the train room contains a variety of Fisher Price playsets, including fire
station, farmyard, parking garage, Sesame Street playhouse, and airport,
as well as Lincoln Log and pony playsets. This room is used for our
Language time for the Socialization and Basic Skills class. Our
learning centers for each alphabet letter (Getting Ready for Kindergarten)
are also set up in here each week.

3.THE VEGGIE TALE ROOM
The Veggie Tale room is a
colorful exciting room for indoor playtime. Special fun includes
playing in the jungle gym. This is also used for special
activities during our center time for the Getting Ready for Kindergarten
classes.

4. GYMNASIUM
|
Music
and Movement
We use the huge gymnasium for our music
and movement activities. This also makes a great place for us to
entertain our mommies and daddies for Mom's Coffees and Dad's Night.
When the winter blahs get to us, it's also nice to have a big place to run
and get rid of that excess energy. |
|

5.SEASIDE CINEMA
This cool theatre room features it's
slanted movie seats and a screen for special occasion videos.
It's especially nice for our pajama party at Christmas time and comes with
it's own popcorn wagon!

6.OUTDOOR PLAYGROUND
In the
spring and fall we enjoy the outdoor playground with many opportunites to
develop coordination and strength.

|
|
7. SANCTUARY
We are able to use the church sanctuary for our Christmas
programs and our preschool Graduation in the spring. The large
stage area and the slanted floor of the sanctuary make it easy for
everyone to see their little ones.
